Volunteer Opportunities

Archaeology Laboratory


																						

Identify, record, and conserve artifacts from Maryland's past







Gardening

Help recreate a 17th-century landscape by working in period and native plant gardens and on the museum's grounds

Trail Maintenance

Help plan and maintain over 3 miles of trails

Militia

Shoulder a musket or pike and travel to other historic sites for presentations and demonstrations in period costumes (usually on weekends). Visit the St. Marie's Citty Militia web site to learn more

Museum Shop

Provide customer service in one of Southern Maryland's friendliest and most unique retail operations

Maryland Dove Crew

Help maintain and learn to crew on HSMC's re-created square-rigged ship and period small craft

Sewing Circle

Help construct and mend our wonderful 17th-century costumes or assist with crewel embroidery and knitting

Special Events and Projects

Share your special skills on an as-needed basis in a variety of ways
