Lecture - Interpreting Slavery
|
Consider the many ways the enslaved experience has been interpreted through exhibits and by costumed interpreters. Historian Nicole Moore, from Historic Brattonsville, S.C. will discuss her experience portraying slave life on a South Carolina plantation and offer a behind-the-scenes look at the research, politics and presentations involved with bringing an electrifying subject to the public.

Little Explorers: Music Past & Present
|
Pre-schoolers explore different ways to make music using instruments familiar to the early residents of Maryland. At the end of the program, visit the Chapel to hear how beautifully music sounds! Program designed for children ages 3-5 years old and an accompanying adult. Activities may include story-telling, crafts, songs, and outdoor exploration.
